As an association for those local authority officers from authorities in England involved in the development of education and Children's Services buildings of any type, EBDOG provides support, information, guidance and networking opportunities for its members. In recent years it has become a key body for consultation by DCSF on capital issues.

This conference featured keynotes and presentations on Capital Investment as Part of a School Improvement Strategy from Partnerships for Schools, Liverpool City Council and a primary head teacher, while the workshop options covered sustainability, design and personalised learning.
