S4PL newsletter launched

S4PL launches a monthly newsletter as part of its newly branded and content-refreshed website

The newsletter is a great way to find out more about the Space for Personalised Learning (Space4PL) project and will feature monthly updates, along with news on the nine pilot projects and comments from the team on any education legislation and initiatives which may be of interest to readers. Those that are interested in receiving the electronic newsletter can click here to register.

The newly refreshed website now has up-to-date reports on all of the nine schools which are taking part in the project - along with user guides showing teaching professionals how to bring the Space4PL process into their own schools.

As part of the refresh, we have also uploaded the 'Space4PL process' - an evolving map of the journey the Space4PL team is taking with its nine pilot projects. The process can be used as a guideline for other schools embarking on the creation of their own spaces for personalised learning.

Designed with learner-centred innovation in mind, the process can be used within a wide range of educational capital projects, from primary to secondary, from devolved formula to Building Schools for the Future.

The process is broken down into a set of distinct stages. These are:

  • Project Initiation
  • Baseline
  • Concept Brief Part 1
  • Concept Brief Part 2
  • Detailed Design and Implementation
  • Change Management and Evaluation

That there is no 'one right model' is, in itself, a characteristic of personalisation. Every school and project is individual, has a different workforce, history, legacy, culture and aspiration, but the project’s aim is to create not a unique process but one that can be used by all schools. This process is therefore structured along a series of tracks, which may ultimately be managed and implemented by different organisations.
