Projects - Large Scale
From September 2009, Space for Personalised Learning will work with a series of “large scale pilot” projects, working with four schools across the country engaged in a building programme.
"Large scale" pilots aim to be broad, whole school interventions that are highly ambitious in scope and impact.
Building on both the Small Scale Pilots, and the DCSF's Project Faraday, which created concept designs for new approaches to learning science within a science department, this part of the project aims to work on new approaches to learning across the whole school, and aims to tackle fundamental assumptions around school design, within the context of Personalised Learning.
The project is current selecting four schemes from around the country, aiming to engage with partner schools where the project can make a significant impact, but also where there is significant national applicability to their scenario to support other schools in similar contexts.
Currently, only one out of the four schemes has been officially selected, with three others going through a confirmation process. This located in Telford.
